Schuyler was bored. That fact had been apparent to her mother. After watching her daughter pack up her duffel bag, and leave in her old mustang that had belonged to her father, her mother went back to cleaning. Schuyler on the other hand studied the road carefully as she cruised along towards the gym. She often did this when she could figure out nothing more to do in the day. It was refreshing too. The exercise.
As Schuyler pulled into the parking lot, parked, and strolled into the building, she nodded to people here and there. She was new to Sunset, and had only been to this gym two other times, but it was good enough for her. She moved up to the counter, and asked to check out a locker for her things. After paying a $5 deposit, she moved toward the locker room, and quickly changed into a pair of shots and a tank top, and pulled her hair up into a long ponytail.
She paused for a moment to figure out what she would do today, and decided quickly to just start on the treadmill and then work her way up to something else. After spending three years in Military School, she'd developed a pretty sturdy work out plan, and developed a better sense of respect for people. That didn't keep her from partying though.
She sauntered into the work out room with the treadmills and turned one on, starting her work out at a steady walk before switching to a fast paced jog. The place was empty, as it was a bit early in the morning. She didn't mind though, she liked the quiet at times.

Schuyler looked up calmly from her jog when the boy said that she looked familiar. She shook her head. "I haven't gone to the school here yet, I've just moved here actually." she noted and looked forward again. An intense look crossed her face and she turned from a jog to a run, turning up the speed a bit. She was breathing heavily by the time she turned the treadmill off and stood back, wiping sweat off her neck with a towel.
"I moved from Del Rio, Texas. Only about a week ago." she said softly now. She moved to the side of her treadmill, glancing back at him, before noting how long she'd been running. "30 minutes at a steady jog...2 at a full run...that means it's 15 minutes with the weights, and 10 in the pool..." she muttered to herself quietly. She suddenly looked up, looking a bit embarrassed about what she was saying. "Sorry, I've been working out like this for three years now...I sorta had to." she chuckled.
She pulled out her water bottle and took a drink of water. "Well, I suppose I'll get back to my work out." she smiled at him before moving across the room, to the weights. She started by using ten pound weights and then moved to the bowflex next to them. She set the resistance up and began her work out with that. It was a bit awkward now, and she cleared her mind as she continued to work.

What the fuck was that? He thought she she spoke, mumbled then walked away. He made his eyes somewhat wide but continued his jog. He was going to leave the girl alone because she seemed very serious about her work out routine but the immature ass in him couldn't. He jogged slower and slower till eventually he stopped. He brought a hand up shoving all the hair from his face as he pulled a headband from his wrist from the tangles of bracelets placing over his head and used it to hold the mess of dark hair from his eyes. He turned casually and watched her,
"Need a spot? I've been working out here for a little while now. So your the new girl? Well let me assure you,....your going to love school"
he said rolling his eyes. He hated school and hated the drama in it. Everybody hated somebody and that somebody was fucking everybody. It was too much and to be frank he couldn't wait till he graduated and got out. He personally never had problems. There wasn't any obvious reasons to hate him. He tried to get along with everyone. He could be a jock one minute, a stoner the next, and a nerd the next. He moved from the treadmill and towards a set of upper body equipment farther to the other side of the gym. Though his eyes looked back to the Texan. So he hadn't seen her in school? Maybe the hair? There seemed to be quite a few blond's but look where they were. Beaches, water period attracted all the same people. He couldn't even count how many surfers and big chested girls he ran into in a day. How many skinny little scene kids and loveless skaters. It was life, this was high school and if nothing else made him laugh, it was that.
"So you 'had' to work out? Play sports?"
he asked as he began doing pull up sets up 10.

Schuyler seemed pretty amused when he followed her, and glanced over at him when he spoke. For a few moments she focused on how many movements she was making. "I really don't like public school and my only concern is making friends right now." she mused at him with a small smirk. She stopped speaking to count again, starting to feel a slight burning in her arms. She took in a few huffs of breath.
She paused to look at him as he workedout. She slowed down her breathing, calming herself to a slow rhythm. She gazed at him and started laughing when he asked her wh she had to work out a lot. "Well, up until the beginning of the summer, I went to Military School in Del Rio. We moved there from Italy after my dad died when I was ten. After middle school I got into big trouble with my mother, and she sent me to that school. I was there against my will for the first year, but the two years after I was there by my choice. They work you out...and they work you out hard." she seemed amused as she chattered with friendly enthusiasm.
She began to work out again, working herself even harder now. With every pull back she counted one number. After about 25 pulls, she stopped, looked up at the clock, pressed her fingers to her neck, and took her pulse.

Schuyler watched him for a moment as he laughed at her. She didn't mind, it was rather funny to be taking her pulse, but it was a habit. It's how she knew she was working herself to the point that she needed. She closed her eyes for a moment, counting, before opening her eyes again. She followed his movements as he switched to the bench, and began doing his reps. She stood up, and stretched down touching her toes for five counts before slowly rolling back up.
"I'm Schuyler." she said calmly, pulling her ponytail out and letting her blonde hair fall on her shoulders. "A work out buddy would be fun to have. A friend even better she mused at him now, her blue gaze looking out the window to the outside for a moment. "It's not as hot here as it is in Del Rio." she noted, mostly to herself. That had been her favorite part about Texas, the heat. She hated the cold, it was just...too cold!
She laughed when he told her she looked intense when she worked out. "That's a soldier for you. We always had to focus. We couldn't talk, and every month we had to beat our fastest work out time. It was a constant struggle to be on top.It means we'd have to run ourselves harder, lift faster, swim faster. It was a rather fun challenge. I guess I got that from my father." she mused now, grinning. She suddenly looked up. A woman was staring at her, holding a plastic bag. She had a motherly look to her. Schuyler looked at Kacee. "One moment. Mom!" she headed towards the woman.
The woman handed her the bag, and Schuyler flushed a bit as her mother scolded her. "You've gotta eat something afterward, and I mean it. You don't eat before, at least eat that after." her mother looked a bit smug. Skye nodded. "Yes mother." she said softly, kissed her mothers cheek and headed back over to her duffel bag. She put the food in her bag and watched her mother leave.
She then went back over to Kacee. "I keep forgetting my breakfast." she mused. "This is the 15th time she's had to bring me food." she chuckled at herself.

Skye really didn't find the laughter funny. She really didn't even get why he was laughing at her. She crossed her arms over her chest, and stared at him with a bit of an irritated look on her beautiful features. She bit her lip, and bit back a sharp remark. She then turned stiffly and moved towards her duffel bag. "I'm heading off to the pool." she muttered, seeming angry by his laughter.
One thing you never did, was piss off a Military Brat, as they were called. They were taught to show respect towards the elders, and never argue. But if you insulted them, they could easily eat you for lunch. Skye shook her head, muttering in fluent Italian, and headed into the locker room. She changed into her suit, showered quickly and then jumped into the pool, beginning her laps.
She was still rather angry, and she pushed herself to work harder than before to let off the steam. Her muscles ached for a break, but she didn't quit. She continued her laps breathing heavily. She wondered if he had followed her, seeing as she'd stormed off in a bit of a fit.

Before he realized what happened she stormed off. He dropped his weights and looked after her feeling a bit dumbstruck, what the fuck just happened? he thought for the second time since meeting the girl. He stood and took a few strides towards the pool before stopping, now why exactly would be follow her? He didn't know her, he didn't wanna look like a stalker, and finally he didn't even know how he offended her. If he had in fact offended her.
He took another couple sets before he cross his arms across his chest, because your nice Kay he thought with a groan as he walked into the pool area looking to her. He couldn't help but glance her body over then looked away sheepishly. He wasn't exactly sure how to get her attention besides screaming and he wasn't much of a screamer so he settled for jumping in the pool. He leaped in, fully clothed and the cool rush of the water was rather refreshing. He had only been in the pool one other time and it had been at least a year ago. He broke threw the surface and moving the dark wet hair from his face, where it seemed to like to stay at all time,
"You kinda took off pretty fast, thought I'd see if you were alright"
he asked in a somewhat loud voice.

She faltered in her strides, and stopped, wiping water from her eyes. "Sorry, a little irritated. I guess it's the soldier in me that respects my mother." she said with a bit of venom in her voice. "I have a problem with memory at times. It may not look cool to have your mother bring you food, but I really don't care. I just dislike the fact that you took the opportunity to laugh at me." she muttered, dipping down into the water again. She came back up after needing more hair, and smoothed her blonde hair back, taking in a few calming breaths.
She suddenly looked relaxed again, and tried to lighten the mood. "Uhm, I think your supposed to wear a bathing suit in a swimming pool." she mused at him, noting his wet clothing. She suddenly felt tired and decided to get out of the pool now. For some reason she was feeling sluggish today. She stepped out of the pool and wrapped a towel around herself, sitting on the bench, looking at him, where she'd left him.
